Count hotel nights separately
Write down the UK departure, destination arrival, first check-in, intercity transfer, final checkout and return arrival. Overnight flights and late departures can make travel days different from hotel nights. Ask for the exact accommodation dates rather than assuming a seven-day description includes seven nights. Record any early check-in or late checkout as confirmed, requested or excluded.
Seven nights: prioritise the essentials
A shorter stay needs careful coordination. Decide whether your preferred city split leaves enough time for the necessary movement and rest. Avoid assuming every calendar day is a full day at the destination. Check the first and final days particularly closely. A short itinerary should not depend on an uncertain connection, an unconfirmed room or a transfer with no clear pickup arrangements.
Ten nights: compare the city split
A longer stay can offer more choices, but the actual allocation matters. Ask for alternative numbers of nights in Makkah and Madinah, with the transfer between them shown clearly. Compare those options against your party’s priorities. Do not let a small change in headline price obscure the loss of a night in the city you most wanted to spend time in.
Fourteen nights: budget for the whole period
More nights can increase accommodation, meals and other expenses, as well as the leave or school arrangements needed at home. Build the full-party budget for the actual room and meal basis. A longer itinerary does not automatically include more services or guidance. Confirm what is supplied, what is optional and how additional time changes the payment obligations.
Use sample allocations only as questions
For a ten-night discussion, you might compare five nights in each city with six and four. These are arithmetic examples, not available itineraries or religious recommendations. Ask how the travel dates and transfer timing would work in practice. Consult a suitably qualified person for religious guidance; this page does not prescribe the time required for worship.
