Plan for the whole family
Children, parents and older relatives can have very different travel needs. Consider flight timings, the length of connections and how much time the group will need to settle in. Leave breathing space in the itinerary instead of trying to fit every activity into the first few days.
Look beyond the hotel photograph
Ask how the proposed room accommodates your group, how many beds are provided and whether connecting rooms are confirmed or only requested. Check the walking route, entrances, lifts and transport arrangements. Describe practical access requirements without sending medical records through a general enquiry form.
Be clear about school-holiday dates
Start with the actual holiday dates for your school and decide whether there is flexibility at either end. Prices and availability can differ between dates and room types. Ask for a total family price and an explanation of child pricing, supplements and any items you would pay for separately.
